Laughing Berry Gifts
A full service gift shop in the Artists Village on the water front in Metlakatla,
next to the Longhouse. Laughing Berry Gifts carries the artist’s hand-made
jewelry, note cards and envelopes with local photography, mugs, Metlakatla
t-shirts, key chains, Native American CDs and an assortment of other items.
Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards are gladly accepted. The shop is open
during summer tours and upon request. Click on Gallery Selections to see pictures of
handcrafted jewelry and other items in shop. Phone orders are accepted
and encouraged.

Metlakatla Car Rentals
This is Metlakatla’s premier car rental service, with six vehicles for rent. All
cars are clean, insured and non-smoking. Customer service is key; the owners will deliver the rented vehicle to the customer’s point of entry, whether by
plane or ferry. Also available, a couple of Honda Elite 80 scooters and a four-
-wheeler for rent. Contact us for more information.

Laughing Berry Tours
A small private tour company that specializes in a historical narrative. The
guide will take you around the island and show you interesting natural and
historical sites. This is a unique view of the Metlakatla Tsimshian community,
provided by its people. View totem poles. Excellent photo opportunities.
The guides are well-versed in Metlakatla’s past and current history. The
approximately one hour tour culminates in a visit to the Laughing Berry Gift
Shop. |

Laughing Berry Inn
Lodging for 1 – 2 individuals in a quiet, clean, non-smoking, non-drinking home.
The “Inn” has been established and licensed as of May, 2009 but has not yet been built. Currently, lodging consists of a sleeping space in the home of the owners, Lawrence and Lindarae Shearer. Clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast and coffee are provided. Dinner can be pre-ordered and added to the customer’s bill as extras if desired. Availability determines feasibility. Grounds surrounded by tall, indigenous trees and lovely gardens.
